Appointments

Beacon Medical Practice is committed to providing you with the best possible access to its services.

Please call us on 01754 897000 to speak to our appointment booking team, who will coordinate your call.

The call handler will then offer you appropriate on the day options, or suggest the best place for you to receive care.

The options we offer within the practice are:

  • Out of Hours appointments with the dedicated local team during evenings and weekends
  • Face to Face appointments
  • Triage appointments
  • Physiotherapist

Other services

You may, however, be signposted to one of the following providers:

  • Dentist
  • Pharmacist
  • Podiatrist
  • Optician

This means that you will be offered an appointment or signposted to the correct care provider.

These options allow you to choose what suits you and your availability!

We hope that all of our patients will support us in the transition and are happy with the changes that we are making.
We are always happy to receive feedback on our systems to enable us to improve where we can.

Home visits

Home visits are reserved for patients who are house-bound or have serious illness and are too poorly to attend the Practice. Patients with certain severe conditions that can be passed-on may receive special advice on how they may be assessed and treated.

If you have decided to request a home visit then it would help us if you telephone the Practice first thing in the morning between 8.00am and 11.00am, except in case of an emergency. This helps our GP’s to plan their visits and often results in a speedier response to your request. GP’s normally do home visits after morning surgery, so usually you can expect a home visit after 12.00pm.

Extended hours

These are available Monday to Friday 5.30pm to 8.30pm  and weekends 8am to 7pm (7 days a week, 365 days per year). These need to be booked through Beacon Medical Practice.  The practice is closed at the weekend and on Bank Holiday, but appointments are available with the Extended Hours service outside of our working times.

Children under 14 years of age should ideally be accompanied to their appointment by their parent or legal guardian.  However, we do appreciate that this is not always possible and very often relatives or friends are asked to accompany the child on the parent’s behalf.
